Light on the Lake | Landscape Paintings

The Light on the Lake brings together landscape paintings shaped by gesture, color, and the movement of light across water. These works begin with my experience of the landscape, but they are less about describing a place than responding to it—clouds shifting overhead, their reflections breaking and reforming on the lake, light filtering through trees and glistening across the surface.

Paint is handled gesturally and intuitively, allowing brushwork and heightened color to echo the rhythms of wind, water, and sky. The horizon steadies the composition while everything else remains in motion. What emerges is an ephemeral landscape—one rooted in observation, but guided by feeling, memory, and the emotional pull of light as it changes and disappears.
